Northeast (3-7-2, 2-1-1 ICCAC) was strong defensively throughout the contest and opened the game up in the first half when Addison Osilka (Fort Collins, Colo.) found the back of the net with an unassisted goal. The Hawks were able to add another score just before the halftime horn as Amelia Bingley (Melbourne, Australia) added her fifth goal of the year with an assist from Demitra McClure (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
Iowa Lakes was able to put one goal on the scoreboard in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Northeast secured the victory over a Lakers squad who is currently the highest-ranked team in the ICCAC. The win moves the Hawks in a tie for third in the conference standings with just four matches left in the regular season.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on what clicked in the win over No. 14 Iowa Lakes:
"Everyone stood out today," Miller said. "We struggled a little in the first half to gain possession and play our game, but in the second half our team really figured it out and created a lot of opportunities going forward. I was really proud of the way they performed in the second half, and it was great to get that late goal in the first half. That really changed the game for us."
Miller on building off of this victory heading into the final few weeks of the regular season:
"We have been really good at home," Miller said. "We haven't lost at home yet this year. We also have to figure out how to play on the road. These next few games are always going to be tough, so we have to continue playing well at home and carry that on the road to finish things out strong before we get into the regional tournament."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will host Southeastern Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
