BAYER’S HAT TRICK PROPELS NO. 7 NORTHEAST OVER PARKLAND
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 7 Northeast Community College women’s soccer team was back on the road Friday in Champaign, Illinois for a battle with Parkland College. The Hawks completed their first shutout of the season and topped the Cobras by a final score of 7-0.

Northeast (2-2-1) had their most impressive offensive output of the season during the afternoon as their seven goals were their most of the year so far. Samantha Bayer (Queensland, Australia) tallied a hat trick and three goals for the second time in her career with the Hawks in the ballgame. Freshman Amelia Bingley (Melbourne, Australia) scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in the match while Sarah Huckels (Essen, Germany) and Djoy Zwiesereijn (Wageningen, Netherlands) combined for their first clean sheet of the season.

Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on his message to his team to get things on the right track:
"I really didn't say anything," Miller said. "The team had a chat, and the decision was we needed to play faster, so that was their focus today. Play quick and keep the ball moving. I felt they did a good job with that."
Miller on another ranked matchup upcoming with No. 6 Holmes on Sunday:
"We are looking forward to the competition," Miller said. "We want to use the past games to get better and improve ourselves and having another big game Sunday will tell us if we are doing that. It will be a great opportunity to tell us if we are headed on the right track."
