WATERLOO, Iowa – The No. 6 Northeast Community College women's soccer team was in Waterloo, Iowa Wednesday to square off with Hawkeye Community College. The RedTails came out on top in a game that took overtime to decide a winner by a final score of 1-0
The Hawks (14-2-1, 7-1 ICCAC) had their defense on full display yet again in the contest but struggled to create much offense in rainy conditions. The goal that Hawkeye punched in during overtime was the first goal that Northeast had allowed during the conference slate and the first goal surrendered since September 14.
HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head women's soccer coach Chad Miller on what he wants his team to focus on after this loss:
"We have talked a lot with the team about how hard this time of year the season is as we are playing the same teams over and over," Miller said. "Maybe this loss will be good for us and help us realize we still have games to play. We can put this loss behind us, but I hope we remember how it felt afterwards so that we can refocus and finish out wherever the season takes us."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will be on the road for the final time in the regular season at 3:30 Saturday as they battle Scott Community College.
