Hawks blow past Lakers for third-straight win
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team left doubt on the court on Friday, toppling Iowa Lakes Community College 64-38 in the Hawks Classic at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women's basketball team left doubt on the court on Friday, toppling Iowa Lakes Community College 64-38 in the Hawks Classic at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks (3-0) managed to out-score the Lakers 41-20 in the final two quarters, after taking a 23-18 lead at intermission.
Beth Matas (Girona, Spain) led the Hawks offensively with 17 points after going 7-of-11 from the field. Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) added 11 points and eight boards, while Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) had 10 points. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) and Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.) each had nine points.
The Hawks shot 43 percent from the field and 57 percent from three-point land.
Northeast takes on Iowa Central Community College at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Norfolk.
