HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Soccer Coach Adam Potter on taking down No. 14 in a major fashion:
"It was absolutely massive for our guys," Potter said. "They came out with a little chip on their shoulders. They came out with a good energy right from the start. We scored seven goals in the first half and completed a shutout against No. 14 in the nation. Winning Region 11 for the first time in program history in the regular season was massive and was a goal of ours. We know that the job is not done, and we have to keep pushing forward one day at a time."
Potter on sending the sophomores out with a victory:
"This group of sophomores has meant the world to me," Potter said. "These guys have gone through so much adversity and so much stuff that some people on the outside may not even realize. We have gotten so many more supporters, people in this community and people around campus involved with the program. People forget that when this place was in its darkest time these were the guys who said that they wanted to come and lay a foundation. They wanted to change a program and that is exactly what they have done. They have all been leaders on and off the field. They have set this place up to find success in the future. Every single one of those guys should be remembered in Northeast history forever and I will make sure darn well that happens. These guys have changed the culture. I haven't had a group that has meant more to me than this group right here."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will end the regular season with a duel against Iowa Central Community College at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
