NO. 1 HAWKS SCORE SIX IN FIRST CONTEST AS TOP-RANKED SCHOOL IN THE NATION
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men’s soccer team hit the pitch for the first time Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa since being named the top team in the nation in the NJCAA DII Men’s Soccer Rankings Monday. The Hawks took care of Western Iowa Tech Community College by a final score of 6-0 to stay undefeated.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men's soccer team hit the pitch for the first time Wednesday in Sioux City, Iowa since being named the top team in the nation in the NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Rankings Monday. The Hawks took care of Western Iowa Tech Community College by a final score of 6-0 to stay undefeated on the season.
Northeast (11-0, 2-0 ICCAC) was able to put three goals into the back of the net within the first 25 minutes of the contest to get things going early. The Hawks then went on to add two more before the end of the first half and another in the final 45 minutes to retain bragging rights in the first-ever meeting of the two schools who will now compete against each other annually in the ICCAC.

Head Men's Soccer Coach Adam Potter how the first-ever meeting with Western Iowa Tech went:
"The moral of the story is when you poke a bear the bear is going to attack," Potter said. "We came out with a chip on our shoulder and edge to us, which is great to see. We came out with a mission and finished it!"
Potter on battling another team that has been in the rankings this year next on Saturday:
"Massive game ahead!" Potter said. "Another final, another chance for us to grab a huge three points on the road and grab control of the region."

The Hawks will travel this weekend for a conference matchup against Hawkeye Community College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Waterloo, Iowa.
