NO. 8 HAWKS MEN’S SOCCER DROPS SECOND MATCH OF THE SEASON TO IOWA LAKES

NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 8 Northeast Community College men's soccer team played at home again Wednesday as they hosted NJCAA Division I No. 9 Iowa Lakes Community College. The Lakers topped the Hawks in the contest by a final score of 5-0.

The Hawks (10-2) struggled to create much of an attack throughout the duel. They will now start with a blank slate as conference play begins next.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Assistant men's soccer coach Jyson Breitbarth's thoughts on how he wants his team to respond from this loss:

"We want the team to learn that nothing is given and everything is earned," Breitbarth said. "We want the team to realize the work ethic and buzz needed to win against top programs."

Breitbarth on conference play starting for the Hawks:

"The change in mindset we gain from starting conference is a huge boost in grit and desire for the men," Breitbarth said. "We have a fresh start."

UP NEXT:

Northeast will start conference play at 1 p.m. Saturday against North Iowa Area Community College at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
