Cougars blank Hawks in Norfolk on Thursday
NORFOLK, Neb. – Western Nebraska Community College had the upper hand on Thursday afternoon, topping the Northeast Community College men’s soccer team, 2-0 at Veterans Memorial Park in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. – Western Nebraska Community College had the upper hand on Thursday afternoon, topping the Northeast Community College men's soccer team, 2-0 at Veterans Memorial Park in Norfolk.
The Cougars were first on the scoreboard in the 24th-minute, despite the Hawks having multiple looks on quality set pieces. Western Nebraska found the back of the net again in the 43rd-minute of the second half.
Caio Carrara (Santo Andre, Brazil) tallied two shots and three shots on goal, while Paul Einero (Cape Town, South Africa) had three shots. Goalie Jyson Breitbarth (Hilo, Hawaii) notched two saves in the loss.
The Hawks outshot the Cougars, 11-9.
The Hawks are back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. against Northeastern Junior College in Norfolk.
