FREMONT, Neb. – Kellen Rossman (Norfolk, Neb.) guided the Northeast Community College men's golf team to a first-place finish on Friday at the Central CC Triangular at the Fremont Golf Club in Fremont, Neb.
Rossman carded a 70, while teammate Jordan Hart (Omaha, Neb.) also carded a 70 as he competed as an individual. As a team, the Hawks scored a 296. Kody Sander (Lincoln, Neb.) shot a 74, Rockney Peck (Wisner, Neb.) hit a 75, while Ty Heimes (Battle Creek, Neb.) carded a 77. Santiago Valdes (Merida, Mexico) shot a 79.
"It was windy and raining for most of the round, so I was happy with how we handled the conditions," head coach Wes Bernt said. "Kellen played great all day, finishing with only two bogies and was able to pick up his first win. Jordan played very well, shooting his first even par round of the season. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going into the Nebraska Intercollegiate."
The Hawks will conclude the fall portion of their season on Oct. 8 and 9 when they compete in the Nebraska Intercollegiate at the Norfolk Country Club in Norfolk.
