Bio

Bobby Frost was named Associate Athletic Director – Communications and Events in July 2024 after previously serving as Sports Information and Athletic Event Coordinator at Northeast beginning December 2021.

Frost manages all 12 Northeast Athletics social media accounts and has grown the athletic department’s presence on social media by over 300% since arriving at Northeast. He also manages the Northeast Athletics sports information office, which includes writing and distributing press releases, managing NortheastHawks.com, creating game-day programs, organizing media days and photoshoots, serving as the official statistician of all Northeast home athletic events and being the media contact for Northeast Athletics. Frost coordinates all home athletic contests, hires gameday workers and organizes special events such as Sophomore Day.

Frost oversees community relations, athletic training, the relationship with Coca-Cola and Powerade distributor Chesterman’s for the concession stand and athletic needs and assists with eligibility. He has worked with the local community of Norfolk on multiple initiatives, including "High-Five Friday," a program where student-athletes welcome local elementary and middle school students into their classrooms and buildings as they begin their Friday morning.

In 2024, Frost traveled with the Northeast men’s soccer team for an all-access look at the 2024 NJCAA DII Men’s Soccer Championship in Huntsville, Alabama. The Hawks were victorious in all four of their matches to capture the first NJCAA national title in the history of Northeast Athletics. Throughout the 13-day trip, Northeast experienced record-breaking growth on social media and received national attention.

In 2023, Frost led in the promotion of the Northeast baseball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams setting a program record for wins in a season, as well as men’s golfer Santiago Valdes’ victory at the North Central District Championship that qualified him for the national tournament in Plymouth, Indiana. The men’s soccer squad rose to No. 1 in the NJCAA rankings, which marked the first time that any Hawks program obtained the top spot in any national poll. All three fall sports were ranked for the first time in school history and there were seven highly attended matchups between ranked teams on Northeast’s home field that Frost coordinated. Frost also coordinated nine different postseason events in the fall of 2023, including two Region 11 Championship victories and two Plains District Championship triumphs on the Hawks’ home turf. He made a return trip to Tucson, Arizona to lead promotional efforts at the 2023 NJCAA DII Soccer Championships where the men’s and women’s teams combined to place three student-athletes on the All-Tournament Team and the men’s squad made the NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals for the first time in school history. The Northeast men’s and women’s soccer teams combined to have six All-Americans, which was the most of any program in the NJCAA DI, DII or DII ranks.

In 2022, Frost led an effort to launch eight different sports-specific Twitter accounts as well as a Northeast Athletics TikTok account. He also worked to revamp and grow current social media channels and press releases. He has worked to elevate the Northeast Athletics brand and has played a role in record-setting crowds at home events. Frost was awarded first place for creative writing in the 2021-22 2YSIDA publications contest for a story on former Northeast baseball player Maxim Fullerton. He was part of covering and assisting with three national tournament trips, including the 2022 NJCAA DII Men’s Golf Championship in Joplin, Missouri, the 2022 NJCAA DII Men's Soccer Championship in Tucson, Arizona and the 2022 NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship in Tucson, Arizona. At the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year, sophomore women’s soccer player Erica Derby was named First Team Academic All-America by College Sports Communicators, an organization that Frost is a member of. Derby was one of just 11 NJCAA student-athletes to obtain the accolade and the second in school history.

Frost is a graduate of the University of Missouri where he took part in the “Missouri Method,” which is intended to give students at the University of Missouri real-world experience through the communications department. Frost had an ample amount of hands-on participation with varying forms of communication, including athletics. He is excited to bring those ideas and processes from an SEC institution to the Northeast Athletic Department. Frost graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and a minor in sociology.

At Kickapoo High School he was the sports editor of his school’s magazine, where he was a Missouri J-Day Column Writing Award winner prior to attending Missouri. He is humbled by the opportunity to make an impact on coaches and student-athletes alike to achieve their goals. Frost is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, and most recently lived in Springfield, Missouri.
