AUSTIN, Texas – Northeast Community College sophomore women's soccer player Aidyn Woodall (Castle Rock, Colo.) was named First Team Academic All-America, it was announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) Tuesday.
Established in 1952, CSC Academic All-America is considered the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success. Northeast had six female student-athletes named to the Academic All-District Team and Woodall is just one of 11 student-athletes from the NJCAA to be voted on by CSC members onto the Academic All-America First Team.
Woodall had a 4.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, was named First Team All-Region, Offensive MVP and overall MVP of the Region 11 Tournament and was named a First Team All-American by the NJCAA. She was the captain of the Hawks during what was the most successful season in the history of the women's soccer program as Northeast finished the season with a record of 20-2-1 and won the Region 11 regular-season title, the Region 11 Championship and the North Plains District Championship.
In May, Woodall was named Northeast Athletics Female Athlete of the Year for the second time in her two-year career. Woodall transferred in January after the completion of her time with the Hawks to NCAA Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri where she will begin her junior season this fall. Northeast was ranked as high as No. 5 in the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Rankings in 2023 and made their fourth-straight appearance at the national tournament.
"We are incredibly proud of Aidyn and all of the accomplishments she has earned at Northeast," Athletic Director Jerrett Mills said. "This prestigious honor caps her outstanding two-year career with the Hawks. This award exemplifies not only her academic achievements, but also her gifted talents on the pitch. We look forward to following her career going forward."
Woodall becomes the third Northeast student-athlete to be awarded the distinguished honor as volleyball player Kalli Brester in 2018-19 and women's soccer player Erica Derby in 2022-23 also received the recognition.
