Bio

Savannah Nelson enters her second season as an assistant coach under head coach Amanda Schultze.

Under Nelson’s direction in 2021, Elizabeth Christensen named Second Team All-Conference while Alexis Kapales and Danielle Wadsworth were named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Christensen was also named Second Team All-Region XI B.

Nelson played two seasons for the Northeast volleyball team, reaching the national tournament in both years. She is the current all-time assists leader with 2,497 and the record holder for most assists in a season with 1,251. Nelson earned Second Team All-Region and Honorable Mention All-Conference honors as a freshman and First Team All-Region, First Team All-Conference, Region XI All-Tournament team MVP and National Tournament All-Tournament team accolades as a sophomore. She guided the Hawks to back-to-back Region XI championship appearances, winning both to advance to the national tournament. Nelson joined the Hawks from Wakefield High School where she was a four-time letterwinner in volleyball and was named Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior.

Nelson received an associate of arts degree in business administration from Northeast and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wayne State College.
