Bio

Melissa Hampl is entering her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Northeast Community College women's volleyball team.

Last season, Hampl coached Second Team All-American Karley Heimes and guided the Hawks to a deep run in the ICCAC Tournament. 

In 2019 and 2018, Hampl played a significant role in helping the Hawks reach the NJCAA DII National Tournament in Charleston, W.V. Under her guidance, freshman Josie Sanger was named the first All-American in program history in 2019.

She has 10 years of previous coaching experience at the high school level in volleyball, girls basketball and track and field. In addition to her experience at the high school level, she also coached volleyball at the club level.

Hampl received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business education/cooperative education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently the 8-12 Business Teacher at Norfolk Catholic High School and is originally from Elgin, Neb. Hampl and her husband, Matt, reside in Norfolk. Matt is the Academic Support Coordinator at Northeast Community College. They have two daughters, Journey and Mia.
