HAWKS DROP CONTEST TO NO. 4 TRITONS AS FOCUS SHIFTS TO POSTSEASON

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team ended their regular season Wednesday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk as they battled No. 4 Iowa Central Community College. The Tritons topped the Hawks by a final score of 3-0 with postseason play on deck.

Northeast (20-14, 6-5 ICCAC) brought out their pink jerseys for the showdown and took early leads in multiple sets but were unable to capture a victory on the night. Lily Otten (Pilger, Neb.) led the way for the Hawks in kills with seven in the evening. Northeast will head to Iowa Falls, Iowa for a rematch with Ellsworth Community College in the Region 11 Tournament Quarterfinals and start of the postseason play.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze on what went well tonight:

"Lily Otten played really well for us," Schultze said. "I felt like we blocked pretty well at times. We got some good tips, but we struggled with serve receive when it counted."

Schultze on the upcoming rematch with Ellsworth:

"Excited to get another chance at Ellsworth," Schultze said. "I know the girls will be excited too. Excited to play them again and get started with the postseason!"

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will compete in the Region 11 Tournament Quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Iowa Falls, Iowa against Ellsworth Community College.
