HAWKS VOLLEYBALL SPLITS PAIR OF GAMES IN NORTHEAST TRIANGULAR

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team returned to the Cox Activities Center Wednesday to compete in the Northeast Triangular in two different games. The Hawks were topped by Hawkeye Community College 3-1 in four sets but rallied to beat Central Community College 3-1 in four sets in the nightcap.

The Hawks (6-6) were aided by a huge crowd Wednesday night and were able to take a massive victory over rival Central. Northeast is now 3-0 as a school against the Raiders in the Highway 81 rivalry this year.

Head volleyball coach Amanda Schultze on her teams big win against Central:

"I just felt like we came together and played better," Schultze said. "I just got a feeling even in the first set that they felt comfortable out there. They were ready to go. They also passed a lot better in this game."

Schultze on what she is excited about for her teams upcoming road trip:

"Just to get away and have some team bonding time," Schultze said. "It's going to be five hours on the bus one way. Just to be able to spend time together and have some fun. We'll do a big team supper and just hangout."

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will travel to the RCTC Tournament next for a four-game event beginning 5:00 p.m. Friday in Rochester, Minnesota against Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
