Hawks outlast Bears in final regular season match
BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team (19-16, 7-2 ICCAC) dropped the first set of an ICCAC match on Wednesday night, but crawled back to defeat Des Moines Area Community College in five sets in Boone, Iowa.

Set scores were: 21-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-22 and 15-7.
Brianna Bauer (O'Neill, Neb.) led the Hawks' offense with 15 kills, while adding 16 digs and four blocks. Caitlin Orton (Mills, Neb.) had 14 kills, while MaKayla Davidson (Alliance, Neb.) tallied 40 assists and 13 digs. Josie Sanger (Crofton, Neb.) pitched in 30 digs. Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) set a new single season record for most blocks in a game with 13, crushing the previous record set by Heppner with eight last season.
The Hawks begin postseason play as the No. 3 seed, taking on No. 6-seed Hawkeye Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Mason City, Iowa.
