Blue Hill standout setter inks with Northeast volleyball
NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Head Women’s Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze recently added 2018 state champion Jamie Bonifas of Blue Hill High School to her 2019 signing class it was announced Friday.
NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Head Women's Volleyball Coach Amanda Schultze recently added 2018 state champion Jamie Bonifas of Blue Hill High School to her 2019 signing class it was announced Friday.
Bonifas brings a wealth of winning and accolades to the Hawks volleyball team. The 5-foot-10 setter was named to the Class 'C2' All-Tournament Team by the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star and Prep Dig Nebraska.
Bonifas was selected to play in the TVC All-Star Game and was named TVC First Team and All-Tribland First Team as a senior. She was also a four-year starter at Blue Hill and a four-year letterwinner, while receiving All-State First Team honors from the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star and Prep Dig Nebraska.
"Jamie is an outstanding volleyball player, a great person and a hard worker," Schultze said. "We are excited to have her be a part of our Northeast family this fall. On the court, she sets a great ball and does a nice job of keeping the defense on their toes."
Throughout her career in high school, she recorded 3,164 assists, including 987 as a senior.
As a junior, she was a TVC First Team selection, All-Tribland First Team, Second Team Nebraskaland Prep, Second Team Omaha World-Herald and an Honorable Mention pick by the Lincoln Journal Star.
The Hawks begin their 2019 campaign at the Southeast Community College Tournament on Aug. 23.
