Hawks volleyball makes quick work over Southwestern; advances to Region XI-B Championship
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team is headed back to the Region XI-B Championship game for the third consecutive year after a three-set victory over Southwestern Community College (25-19, 25-16 and 25-12) at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

"Today the girls played well," head coach Amanda Schultze said. "We made some mistakes that we made at the beginning of the season, thankfully they are easy fixes for this team. We played very good defense today with five players in double digits. Now we need to get focused and prepared for tomorrow's game."
Freshman Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) recorded 16 kills and three blocks. Elley Beaver (Columbus, Neb.) tallied eight kills, 13 digs, three blocks and two ace-serves. Sophomore Delaney Belt (Shelby, Neb.) added 19 digs, while Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) had 40 assists.
The Hawks (18-13, 8-1 ICCAC) square off with No. 6-seed North Iowa Area Community College at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk. NIACC upset No 3-seed Hawkeye Community College in five sets to secure a spot in the championship match.
