COLUMBUS, Neb. – The No. 20-ranked Northeast Community College women's volleyball team hit the road on Thursday and dropped two matches at the Central Community College Triangular at the Raider Fieldhouse in Columbus, Neb.
The Hawks battled Indian Hills Community College (17-25, 17-25 and 20-25) and Highway 81 foe Central Community College (21-25, 21-25 and 10-25).
"Tonight was a very rough night for us," head coach Amanda Schultze said. "We did not show up to play. Both teams did a great job at serving and keeping us out of system. They also did a nice job at shutting down one of our top outsides. Megan Wehrbein (Lewiston, Neb.) played a great couple games for us tonight."
In the loss to Indian Hills, Wehrbein notched 15 kills. Kalli Brester (Howells, Neb.) added 14 digs and Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) tallied 24 assists.
Against Central, Brester had nine kills, while Wehrbein pitched in eight. Gabriela Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) recorded 18 digs and Nelson had a double-double with 25 assists and 14 digs.
The Hawks (16-13, 7-1 ICCAC) look back to get to their winning ways as they welcome Kirkwood Community College for an ICCAC showdown at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
