"The girls played well tonight," head coach Amanda Schultze said. "It is always tough to play a slow tempo team, but I thought our girls did a pretty good job at being patient on their blocks and defensively. We blocked very well tonight, but struggled behind the serving line. It was a good conference win."
Kalli Brester (Howells, Neb.) led the Hawks with 11 kills and 11 digs, while Delaney Belt (Shelby, Neb.) had 16 digs. Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) added 26 assists from her setter position and Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) had five blocks.
The Hawks (15-9, 6-1 ICCAC) are now tied for second place in the competitive Iowa Community College Athletic Conference with Hawkeye Community College with a 6-1 record.
Northeast is back in action on Friday to take part in the IWCC tournament, squaring off with Johnson County Community at 1 p.m., and Mineral Area College at 3 p.m., in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
