"Tonight we played well, but seemed to play a really slow tempo game," head coach Amanda Schultze said. "The girls stayed disciplined and served well tonight. We were able to push them out of system and let them make the errors instead of us. Everyone contributed tonight which is always great to see."
As the match went on, the errors became less for the Hawks. In the first set, Northeast tallied 14 kills to four errors, followed by 15 kills and three errors. The Hawks saved the best for last, tallying 13 kills to just two errors.
Elley Beaver (Columbus, Neb.) tallied nine kills, 15 digs and three blocks. Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) added eight kills, while Kalli Brester (Howells, Neb.) recorded seven kills and 18 digs. Setter Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) pitched in 36 assists.
Northeast also honored its five seniors after the match, which included Brester, Nelson, Shelby Paprocki (Clarkson, Neb.), Gabriela Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Delaney Belt (Shelby, Neb.) and student manager Megan Borg.
