NORFOLK, Neb. – Kalli Brester's double-double performance powered the Northeast Community College volleyball team (5-3, 1-0 ICCAC) to its fourth-straight victory over the Southeast Community College Storm (25-20, 25-23 and 25-19) on Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
Brester (Howells, Neb.) tallied 16 kills and 18 digs, while pitching in two ace serves in the non-conference bout. Hannah Heppner (Stanton, Neb.) added 14 kills and Savannah Nelson (Wakefield, Neb.) added a double-double with 41 assists and 11 digs. Gabriela Barbosa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) pitched in 20 digs.
"Today we got off to another slow start and made some mental errors," Head Coach Amanda Schultze said. "Once we got going we played really well. We struggled blocking all game, but did well offensively. Hannah Heppner and Kalli Brester really stepped it up at the net."
The Hawks return to conference play when they host Iowa Lakes Community College at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Cox Activities Center. Live stream will be available at: https://team1sports.com/northeastcc/
