WOODALL AND SANDERS NAMED TO 2023 WOMEN’S SOCCER ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Northeast Community College women's soccer players Aidyn Woodall (Castle Rock, Colo.) and Talia Sanders (Queensland, Australia) were named to 2023 NJCAA DII Women's Soccer All-America Teams, it was announced by the NJCAA Tuesday.

Woodall was named First Team All-American as a captain in 2023 after being awarded the title of Second Team All-American during her freshman year in 2022. The sophomore started all 23 of Northeast's contests just as she did last season and tallied 16 goals, was fifth in the country in assists with 18 and recorded 50 points in 2023. Woodall was named First Team All-Region for the second year in a row for the Hawks and scored a game-winning goal in overtime of the Region 11 Tournament Semifinals against Iowa Lakes Community College, a game-tying goal with 2:37 remaining in the Region 11 Tournament Championship against Iowa Central Community College and scored both Northeast goals in the North Plains District Championship against Johnson County Community College.

Sanders was named Honorable Mention All-American after a freshman season that saw her put in 18 goals in 21 games played. Sanders added three assists, had a total of 39 points and was clutch for the Hawks with four game-winning scores. She also came up huge during Northeast's showdown with Schoolcraft College at the national tournament as she tied the contest with less than 30 minutes remaining in a matchup that the Hawks went on to win.

Woodall and Sanders were each part of a Northeast squad that set a program record for wins in a season with 20, became champions of both Region 11 and the North Plains District and won a match at the 2023 NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship.
