Six Northeast women’s soccer team members named All-Region
NORFOLK, Neb. – Coming off a third-place finish in the ICCAC, the Northeast Community College women’s soccer team landed six of its members on the All-Region team, it was announced by the conference on Monday.

Sophomore Ellie Gess and freshman Emma Weaver were named All-Region First Team for their efforts on the pitch this season.
Gess led the offensive attack for the Hawks this season, recording eight goals, while starting in all 16 games. The Papillion, Neb., native added four assists and 21 shots, good for a .381 shot percentage. Gess tallied two goals on separate occasions with the first coming in a 2-0 victory over Hawkeye Community College on Sept. 26 and the other in a 5-0 tournament win against North Iowa Area Community College on Oct. 21.
Weaver started in every game for the Hawks in 2018. The Lakewood, Colo., native was a strong defensive presence for the Hawks in her first year with the program.
Freshmen Mary Perez and Amanda Stricker were both named to the All-Region Second Team after a strong first season in a Hawks uniform.
Perez started in eight games for the Hawks and played in 15. She recorded three goals and four assists. Stricker saw action in 12 games and pitched in five goals and four assists. She had a season-high two assists and a goal in a 5-3 win over Northeastern Junior College on Oct. 14.
Sophomore Tayler Ohu and freshman Dayla Miller were named to the Honorable Mention All-Region team to round out the accolades for the Hawks.
The speedy Ohu started in 11 games for Northeast and found the back of the net four times. Perez started in eight games and played in 15, while adding three goals and four assists in her first year.
The Hawks end their season with an 8-7-1 overall record and a 6-3 record in conference play.
