Northeast women power past Marshalltown in ICCAC action
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team held Marshalltown Community College to just 17 points in the first half as the Hawks toppled the Tigers 81-41 in ICCAC play on Saturday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

The Hawks (24-3, 3-1 ICCAC) put up 43 points in the first half and never looked back, while holding the Tigers to only 31 percent shooting from the field. Northeast managed to shoot 49 percent from the field and a blistering 47 percent from beyond the arc.
Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) led the Hawks with 17 points and six rebounds. Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) added 16 points and nine boards, while Beth Matas (Girona, Spain) had 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) and Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) each pitched in 10 points.
Northeast travels south to square off with Highway 81-rival, Central Community College at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Raider Fieldhouse in Columbus, Neb.
