Moore comes up big as Hawks knock-off NDSCS

The sophomore recorded a career-high 26 points, to go along with six steals as the Northeast Community College women's basketball team topped (RV) North Dakota State College of Science, 59-57 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
It wasn't easy for the Hawks (13-2) as they tallied just eight points in the first quarter. But, Moore went to work in the second quarter as she went tallied 11 of the 15 points scored by Northeast.
Down by six points after halftime, the Northeast defense held the potent Wildcat offense to only eight points as the Hawks managed to score 17, thanks to two contested 3-pointers by Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.).
The fourth quarter was a seesaw battle as both teams traded shot-for-shot. However, back-to-back 3-pointers by Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) and Moore gave the Hawks the advantage they needed to hold off NDSCS in the final minutes of the game.
Kulhanek added 10 points off the bench, while Beth Matas (Girona, Spain) pitched in nine points and six assists.
The Hawks are back in action Mount Marty College JV for a 5 p.m. contest on Friday in Norfolk.
