NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Women's Head Basketball Coach Matt Svehla has been on the recruiting trail lately and added local standout Lorna Maxon of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge High School.
As a senior, Maxon averaged 11 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She shot 42 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the arc. For her efforts, she was named to the Lewis and Clark Conference First Team and the Norfolk Daily News Third Team.
"Lorna is a very balanced player with good versatility," Svehla said. "She can do a bit of everything. She contributes on the perimeter, in the paint and at the foul line. Defensively, she is not afraid to do the dirty work that is required and she does it all in a very humble manner. She is the type of player who will find a way to contribute and will always play hard."
The Hawks finished the season with an overall record of 16-11 after making a trip to the Region XI championship.
