Sanz, Hunstad tabbed First Team All-Region; Moore, Brown named Honorable Mention
NORFOLK, Neb. – Sophomores Irene Sanz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) and Lauren Hunstad (Parker, S.D.) of the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team were named to the ICCAC Division I First Team All-Region list, it was announced by the conference on Monday.

Freshmen Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) and Eriana Brown (Des Moines, Iowa) earned All-Region Honorable Mention in their first year with the Hawks.
Sanz led the team in scoring with 11.6 points per game, while making 43 percent of her shots from the field and 34 percent from the three-point line. She had a season-high 25 points at Northeastern Junior College on Nov. 26. Sanz also grabbed 4.9 rebounds and dished out 2.4 assists per game.
Hunstad started in 26 games for the Hawks and chipped in 9.1 points per game, while making 38 percent of her shots from the field. Her largest scoring output came against Southeast Community College on Nov. 20 with 24 points.
In her first year with the Hawks, Moore averaged 8.5 points per game in 26 games played. She shot 42 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc. She also grabbed 3.1 rebounds and dished out two assists a game. Moore had a season-high 20 points in a win over Hastings College JV on Jan. 21.
Brown was a critical piece at the point-guard position for the Hawks. She recorded 6.3 points, two rebounds and two assists per game, while hitting 41 percent from the field. Brown had a season-high 19 points against Iowa Western Community College on Jan. 19.
The Hawks concluded their season with an overall record of 16-11 and 2-2 record in conference play. Northeast also held a 9-4 record on its home court.
