The Reivers held the Hawks to 30 percent shooting from the field, dropping Northeast 66-53 in an ICCAC battle at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
Iowa Western doubled up the Hawks (13-10, 1-2 ICCAC) in the first quarter 16-8, but the Hawks mounted a slight comeback to out-score the Reivers 15-13 in the second period. Down by six points after halftime, the Hawks came within three points early in the third quarter after two made free-throws by Lauren Hunstad (Parker, S.D.). However, 22 points in the fourth quarter from the Reivers, kept Northeast out of striking distance for the remainder of the game.
Eriana Brown (Des Moines, Iowa) led the Hawks with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) chipped in 12 points off the bench.
The Hawks step out of conference action to square off with Southeast Community College at 5 p.m., Wednesday in Beatrice, Neb.
