Berryman earns Second Team honors, McKewon, Denning, Garcia and Kelley named Honorable Mention
NORFOLK, Neb.– Freshman Maggie Berryman (Norfolk, Neb.) was named to the Second Team All-Region softball team, it was announced by the conference on Wednesday.
NORFOLK, Neb.– Freshman Maggie Berryman (Norfolk, Neb.) was named to the Second Team All-Region softball team, it was announced by the conference on Wednesday.
In just her first year with the Hawks, Berryman hit .336, with a .450 on-base percentage and a .563 slugging percentage, while collecting 41 RBI, a team-high nine home runs, 21 walks and two doubles.
Madison McKewon (Springfield, Neb.) earned Honorable Mention status after collecting a .299 batting average including 10 doubles and 14 stolen bases.
Jacqueline Denning (Sacramento, Calif.) tallied a .366 batting average in 82 at-bats and a .488 slugging percentage.
Rosario Garcia (Northglenn, Colo.) led the team with 12 doubles and had six home runs, 36 RBI and drew 20 walks. She also recorded a .345 batting average and a .556 slugging percentage.
Sydney Kelley (Omaha, Neb.) knocked in 11 doubles, 17 RBI and stole 12 bases in her first year. She hit .336 in 110 at-bats and had a .464 slugging percentage.
The Hawks lose just two sophomores to graduation.
