Iowa Western downs Northeast softball on Tuesday
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College softball team had a hard time finding any offensive production on Tuesday, falling to Iowa Western Community College 8-0 and 13-5 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College softball team had a hard time finding any offensive production on Tuesday, falling to Iowa Western Community College 8-0 and 13-5 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
The Hawks (2-14) were held to just two hits in the first game of the doubleheader.
Madison McKewon (Springfield, Neb.) and Maggie Berryman (Norfolk, Neb.) were the lone Hawks with a hit in the loss.
Northeast was able to scratch across five runs in the final game of the doubleheader. However, the Reivers held strong in the bottom of the fifth to keep the Hawks out of reach by adding seven runs.
Sydney Kelley (Omaha, Neb.) led the Hawks at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. McKewon added a hit, with two runs and two stolen bases.
Northeast is scheduled to play Concordia University JV at 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday in Seward, Neb.
