Hawks fall to McCook on Friday
MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College softball team hit the road and headed west to take on McCook Community College, falling 8-0 and 17-1 on Friday in McCook, Neb.

MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College softball team hit the road and headed west to take on McCook Community College, falling 8-0 and 17-1 on Friday in McCook, Neb.
Northeast was scheduled to play North Platte Community College in North Platte, Neb., until poor field conditions forced the Hawks to find a different opponent and a new location.
The Indians held a 4-0 lead until the sixth inning and ultimately ended the game off a two-run double.
The Hawks (0-6) tallied a hit from Abby Pierce (Brainard, Neb.) and Karissa Urdiales (Thornton, Colo.).
McCook made quick work in the second game, bolting to a seven-run first inning and a six-run second inning. The Hawks plated a run in the third inning, but it wasn't enough as the Indians added four more runs to put the game out of reach.
Pierce added two hits and a run for the Hawks, while Sydney Kelley (Omaha, Neb.) and Rosario Garcia (Northglenn, Colo.) had a hit.
The Hawks are back in action today against North Platte Community College at 1 and 3 p.m. in North Platte, Neb.
