SIXTH-STRAIGHT SHUTOUT FOR NO. 3 NORTHEAST FRIDAY IN SHELDON

SHELDON, Iowa – The No. 3 Northeast Community College men's soccer headed to Sheldon, Iowa Friday for their second matchup with Northwest Iowa Community College in as many weeks. The Hawks took the showdown under the lights by a final score of 6-0 to secure their sixth straight clean sheet.

Northeast (13-1-1, 4-0 ICCAC) was again powered by Edouard Nys (Dottignies, Belgium) in the goal-scoring category as the sophomore found the back of the net three different times to extend his team-high total of 24 goals this year. Luca Rosen (London, England) added two more of his own while Aleksander Pedersen (Aarhus, Denmark) scored his second goal of the season. The defense for the Hawks was stellar during the contest as the Thunder were only able to get off one shot on goal the entire night. Thomas Armand-Bacle (La Chappelle-sur-Erdre, France) pitched a shutout, which Northeast has done in every matchup since allowing two goals way back on September 14 against Oakton Community College.

Head Men's Soccer Coach Adam Potter on tallying another victory:

"At the end of the day we have to remain hungry this time of year," Potter said. "We are able to flip that switch on, which I saw after we talked at halftime. We are in the time of the year where we have to show how badly we want something. Really good response by our guys to come out of the half with an edge. When we play unified, we are hard to beat."

Potter on hitting the road to Mason City on Wednesday:

"Massive game and massive opportunity," Potter said. "A team that was receiving votes a few weeks ago. Another opportunity to make a big statement on the road. Our guys know what it takes to win on the road, and we are excited about the opportunity that we have in front of us. Should be a fun game."
