NORTHEAST MEN’S SOCCER BREAKS PROGRAM RECORD FOR WINS IN A SINGLE SEASON WITH EIGHTH VICTORY MONDAY
QUINCY, Ill. – The Northeast Community College men’s soccer team spent their Labor Day in Quincy, Illinois Monday as they battled John Wood Community College in their eighth game of the season. The Hawks made it a perfect eight-for-eight on the campaign as they came out on top by a final score of 2-0.

The Hawks made it a perfect eight-for-eight on the campaign as they came out on top by a final score of 2-0.
With the win today the 2022 team now holds the men's soccer program record for most wins in a single season, and they have done so before even entering conference play. The previous mark of seven wins in a season had been set in 2017, 2020 and 2021.
As well as being a perfect 8-0 to start the season, the Hawks are also 4-0 in the state of Illinois. Defender Conor Carew (Carlow, Ireland) notched his first-career goal in today's matchup while forward Paul Einero (Cape Town, South Africa) continued to build upon his personal record of most goals in the history of the men's program with his seventh score of the year Monday.

Head men's soccer coach Adam Potter on setting the record for most wins in a single season in the history of the men's soccer program:
"For us it was definitely one of our goals this season and it is a massive milestone for the men's program, but we have already moved on because more is expected," Potter said.
Potter on facing the current NJCAA Division I No. 1 ranked team and defending national champions next:
"We know what's coming on Wednesday," Potter said. "Another battle. Our message is nothing different. We just need to focus on what we can control."
UP NEXT:
Northeast will now face what has been voted on as the best NJCAA team in the country as they will take on Iowa Western Community College at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
