Northeast golf takes third at first spring invitational
FRMEONT, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men’s golf team started the 2019 season off on the right track, claiming third place at the Midland Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Fremont Golf Club in Fremont, Neb.

Matthew Schaefer (Fordyce, Neb.) took sixth with a two-day total of 146. Matthew Kingston (Springfield, Neb.) tied for seventh, while Hunter Deines (Cairo, Neb.) carded a 149, good for a tie in 10th-place.
Mason Stubbs (Randolph, Neb.) and Grant Sell (Gothenburg, Neb.) carded a 163 and a 165, respectively to finish in the top-50.
The Hawks hit the greens next week, competing in the Blue River Classic at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday and the Hiland Golf Course on Wednesday in Lincoln, Neb.
