NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team returned home for a matchup with No. 9 Kirkwood Community College Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk. The Hawks dropped the contest by a final score of 85-67.
Northeast (10-14, 4-11 ICCAC) entered the afternoon as winners of three games since the beginning of February and were victorious by 33 points against Central Community College on Tuesday night, but the offensive output wasn't there against a strong Eagles defense. Bryan Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) was the leading scorer for the Hawks with 13 points in front of his parents who traveled all the way from the Bahamas to see him play. Northeast will now shift their focus to the final three games of the regular season with postseason play nearing.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the showdown with Kirkwood:
"They are a good team," Clark said. "Credit to them. They dictated what we did on offense. They shot well in the first half. Their bench outscored us. We just have to get back to work. We might see these guys again in the tournament and it's hard to beat a team three times. A loss now might equal a win down the road."
Clark on his groups mindset to finish the season strong:
"Tomorrows not promised," Clark said. "Right now, we have a four-game season. What are we going to do to change the trajectory of where we are going to go? This is what we worked for all season. We can't have our hard work falter now. Every practice has to be the most competitive yet. Every time we step on the floor in practice, they have to get the best out of each other. Let's put this one behind us and focus on Ellsworth."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will load up for a battle with Ellsworth Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
