MOORE SCORES 29 AS NORTHEAST DOWNS NJCAA DI MCCOOK

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hosted NJCAA DI McCook Community College Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk. The Hawks grabbed a victory by a final score of 95-89 to continue their positive momentum.

Northeast (8-12, 3-9 ICCAC) has been playing their best basketball of the season as of late and that was evident again against the Indians as the Hawks controlled much of the contest. Kamari Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) was all over the floor for Northeast as the freshman played 38 minutes and scored a career-high 29 points. Bryson Faines (Lincoln, Neb.) added a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds and a few crucial defensive stops down the stretch from the whole team were enough to put the Hawks back in the win column.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on his team getting it done today:

"We put together a game from start to finish tonight," Clark said. "Tonight, the guys were ready to play. Friday was a great practice. Thursday, we did a lot of film study. We knew what to expect. The guys played like they felt like they were going to win. We had a gameplan going in and the guys executed that gameplan."

Clark on battling a highly ranked DMACC squad for the second time in two weeks next:

"We are a different team than when we played them the first time," Clark said. "We have the players to go and make plays. It's a process and we are gaining experience. We are growing and we are growing in the right direction. I am proud of the guys."

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will host No. 3 Des Moines Area Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
