ROLLE SETS NEW CAREER-HIGH IN POINTS AS HAWKS DOWN COMETS

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hosted Western Iowa Tech Community College for the very first time Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk. The Hawks took the inaugural meeting of the pair by a final score of 91-85.

Northeast (6-9, 2-6 ICCAC) was led on the night by Bryan Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) as the sophomore set a new career-high in points with 31 in the showdown. Rolle added 10 rebounds to complete a double-double and was trailed closely on the scoreboard by Vincent Garrett's (Lincoln, Neb.) 26 points. The Hawks led by as many as 17 points in the clash and will always be able to say that they were victorious in the first matchup of the two schools.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the growth he has seen from Bryan Rolle to lead to his big night:

"He has grown leaps and bounds from when he came in as a freshman," Clark said. "He does a good job of creating space where he gets himself open. He goes to the hoop hard. He's always around the ball. Tonight, he was on the boards, he was blocking and he was making shots. We rolled with him tonight."

Clark on using the momentum from this win heading into a stretch of three games on the road this week:

"It all started with Ellsworth on Wednesday," Clark said. "DMACC is a tough place to play. Then we jump back on the road with Iowa Lakes on Wednesday before a rematch with NIACC. We are ready to play."

UP NEXT:

The Hawks will compete with No. 6 Des Moines Area Community College at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Boone, Iowa.
