COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team took the short drive down Highway 81 Saturday for their second matchup of the season with non-conference opponent Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska. The Hawks were victors of the tight contest by a final score of 66-55.
The Hawks (12-12, 3-8 ICCAC) and Raiders competed in a tightly-contested showdown that Northeast controlled much of the second half. Back in November, the Hawks took down the Raiders by a final score of 81-75 and they were able to repeat that result much in part due to Collin Storr (Nassau, Bahamas), who reordered a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The rather large contingent of Northeast fans in attendance headed home happy as the Hawks will now have six more conference matchups before the regular season comes to a close.
STAT SHEET:
Collin Storr (Nassau, Bahamas): 21 PTS, 10 REB
Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas): 14 PTS, 9 REB, AST
