ALEXANDRE HAS 20 POINTS AND 16 REBOUNDS IN NORTHEAST LOSS TO IOWA CENTRAL
FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team was back traveling on Wednesday night as they headed to Fort Dodge, Iowa to take on Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks came up just short in the contest by a final score of 92-86 in triple overtime.
FORT DODGE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team was back traveling on Wednesday night as they headed to Fort Dodge, Iowa to take on Iowa Central Community College. The Hawks came up just short in the contest by a final score of 72-60.
The Hawks (11-10, 3-6 ICCAC) fell behind 11-5 early in the battle and did not take their first lead in the game until 10 minutes remaining in the second half when they went up 51-50. Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas) scored over 20 points in his second conference game in a row as his 20 points on the heels of his 26-point performance Monday against Southwestern Community College led Northeast.
The Hawks brought the game to 57-57, but the Tritons from that point extended out a 68-57 advantage on the scoreboard. Northeast led the rebounding category with 48 boards compared to just 41 from Iowa Central.

Assistant men's basketball coach Junior Denis on what plagued the Hawks in the game:
"Tonight was a tough one, but rebounding at the end got us and guys being in foul trouble early," Denis said.
Denis on getting ready to face off with No. 10 Kirkwood next:
"We will come back and work on things and make a few adjustments for Saturday," Denis said.

The Hawks will be back on their home floor for the Northeast Athletics Hall of Fame Game at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk against No. 10 Kirkwood Community College. Inductees from the Northeast Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be introduced at halftime of the men's game that will follow the women's game at 3 p.m.
