The Hawks trailed by three at halftime but were within striking distance of the Iowa Central lead throughout the second half.
The Tritons shot the ball at a 47.5-percent rate while Northeast only shot 31.6-percent from the field.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head men's basketball coach Dan Anderson on what he thought went well tonight:
"I liked our effort at times," Anderson said. "I liked that we had 22 offensive boards. I liked that we took some charges, but we surely didn't shoot it well."
What Anderson wants to see heading into their trip to NIAAC this weekend:
"Confidence," Anderson said. "With a few minutes to go there was an outside hope that we could win that thing. We have turned the ball over too much."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will return to the road to battle North Iowa Area Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Mason City, Iowa.
