NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team was back inside the Cox Activities Center Tuesday night to take on Southeast Community College for the second time on the young season. The Storm came out on top in the contest by a final score of 80-79.
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team was back inside the Cox Activities Center Tuesday night to take on Southeast Community College for the second time on the young season. The Storm came out on top in the contest by a final score of 80-79.
The Hawks (3-3) have dropped both contests to the Storm by just one point this season. Tuesday's matchup was a close affair as both sides traded the lead throughout the night. The score was all tied up at 40 at halftime and neither team pulled away from the other in the second half.
The two teams were fairly even on the stat sheet as well as Northeast grabbed 42 rebounds compared to the 43 from Southeast. Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas) drilled a huge 3-pointer with just 42 seconds left to give the Hawks a 79-78 advantage on the scoreboard, but the Storm would return the favor with a big jumper with 24 seconds left to seal the victory.

"We didn't give up and we fought through it until the end," Dennis said. "I thought the team responded pretty well. We have some guys that are banged up and hopefully we can get fully healthy soon."

The Hawks will enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action at 3 p.m. Saturday in Marshalltown, Iowa against Marshalltown Community College.
