Sanz named NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention
NORFOLK, Neb. – Sophomore Irene Sanz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) of the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team was named an NJCAA DI All-American Honorable Mention, it was announced by the NJCAA on Tuesday.

Sanz led the Hawks in scoring with 11.6 points per game, while shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point land. She was second in the conference for most 3-pointers with 49.
Sanz and the Hawks finished second in the Region XI championship game, where the Hawks fell to Iowa Western Community College.
"Irene was a very good player for us for two years," head coach Matt Svehla said. "She has a high basketball IQ and is a very good three-point shooter. She is one of those players that always seem to know where to be and what to do."
