Hawks hold off Concordia JV on Thursday night
NORFOLK, Neb. – Led by a 22-point performance from Moses Byekwaso (London, United Kingdom), the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team topped Concordia University JV 76-65 on Thursday night at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

"Overall, we did what we needed to do to win," head coach Dan Anderson said. "We need to take better care of the ball and distribute it more effectively, but I like how our guys hung in there and never let up."
The Hawks (8-5) led by five points at halftime and ultimately scored 40 points in the second half to come away with the win, holding Concordia to 40 percent shooting from the field.
Seth Coatta (Minnetonka, Minn.) had another strong night with 13 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Daniel Akuei (Melbourne, Australia) added 11 points. Emmette Page (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) came off the bench and had 10 points, while Joel Ufele (London, United Kingdom) chipped in eight points and a season-high14 rebounds.
Northeast is back in action at 7 p.m., Dec. 15 at Little Priest Tribal College in Winnebago, Neb.
