Hawks fall to Lake Region State College on the road
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – A three-point lead heading into the second half wasn’t enough for the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team, dropping a 90-69 road contest to Lake Region State College at the Lake Region Classic on Friday night in Devils Lake, N.D.

After shooting 55 percent from the field in the first half, Lake Region State went to work on the defensive end, holding the Hawks (4-3) to 33 percent shooting in the second half. Lake Region State also found the net from beyond the arc, hitting 18 3-pointers throughout the game.
Seth Coatta (Minnetonka, Minn.) led the Hawks with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field, including seven 3-pointers, seven rebounds and four assists. Joel Ufele (London, United Kingdom) tallied 10 points and five boards. Daniel Akuei (Melbourne, Australia) and Moses Byekwaso (London, United Kingdom) had nine points each in the loss.
Northeast continues action in the Lake Region Classic, battling North Dakota State College of Science at 1 p.m., tomorrow in Devils Lake.
