HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the showdown with Southeastern:
"We swung it well," Clapp said. "Seventeen hits and 11 runs. We gave up two innings with four runs, one with five and a three spot. We gave up six two-out runs today. When you're playing a team that is 40-10 and the number five team in the country, you can't do that. They are a good team, obviously, but we didn't play clean and that hurt us."
Clapp on the keys to their matchup against No. 14 Iowa Central on Wednesday:
"We just have to compete and control what we can control," Clapp said. "Play aggressive baseball and want it. It comes down to that in this part of the season."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will be back home for a matchup with No. 14 Iowa Central Community College at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk.
