Shaw and Dumont named ICCAC Pitcher and Player of the Week
NORFOLK, Neb. – Andrew Shaw (Dillon, Colo.) and Christian Dumont (Bellevue, Neb.) were a force to reckon with for the Northeast Community College baseball team in the Region XI Tournament last week in Clinton, Iowa.
NORFOLK, Neb. – Andrew Shaw (Dillon, Colo.) and Christian Dumont (Bellevue, Neb.) were a force to reckon with for the Northeast Community College baseball team in the Region XI Tournament last week in Clinton, Iowa.
For their efforts, Shaw was named ICCAC Pitcher of the Week and Dumont was named ICCAC Player of the Week, respectively.
Shaw grabbed two wins in the tournament, pitching 13 innings, giving up just two earned runs off 12 hits. He struck out 11 batters, while walking three.
Dumont went 9-for-22 with seven runs, six walks, three RBI and a double.
The Hawks (32-18) will travel to Miles City, Montana to take on Miles City Community College May 18-19 in a best-of-three series for the North Plains District Championship with the winner advancing to the NJCAA DII National Tournament in Enid, Okla.
