Cale Strong is entering his second season at Northeast and his first as Head Athletic Trainer after previously serving as Athletic Trainer at Northeast beginning in July 2024.
In 2024, Strong was instrumental in helping the Northeast men’s soccer program bring home the first NJCAA national title in school history during their four victories at the 2024 DII Men’s Soccer Championship in Huntsville, Alabama. Strong worked long hours to give treatment to athletes who competed in four games in four days and did whatever it took to help the Hawks bring home the trophy.
“The format at the national tournament is very tough,” Northeast men’s soccer head coach Adam Potter said. “Four games in six days. If we didn’t have Cale Strong there as our athletic trainer, we don’t go and win a national title. To get our guys recovered and back on the field was huge for the success of our team.”
As the first athletic trainer officially employed by Northeast in school history, Strong has implemented many different policies that have improved athletic training and elevated the student-athlete experience at Northeast.
Strong, MAT, LAT, ATC, obtained a master’s degree in athletic training from Dakota Wesleyan University in May 2024. With the assistance of Strong, Clemson finished second at both the Women’s ACC Indoor Championships and the Women’s ACC Outdoor Championships while the men came in fourth at the Men’s ACC Outdoor Championships.
At Dakota Wesleyan University, Strong was placed on the graduate program dean's list during both years of his MAT. Strong played football for three years and competed in track and field for four years throughout his collegiate career.
