Oliver Ward put together an extremely successful sophomore campaign for Northeast as he was second in the region with a 1.71 ERA during conference play. Ward posted a 7-1 record in 2024 and tied for the lead in victories on the mound across the league. Ward fanned 72 batters throughout the entire season over 67 innings of work and has committed to the University of Texas Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas to continue his education and athletic career next fall.
Brice Wallar put together an impressive freshman season and was a force both on the mound and at the plate for the Hawks. Wallar tied for seventh in the ICCAC in hits with 41. He was also eighth in the conference with a .357 batting average at the dish.
Cade Grevengoed was named Honorable Mention All-Region after his freshman season and improved upon that mark to find himself on the second team after his sophomore year. Grevengoed tallied 51 RBIs and was sixth in the conference throughout the entire season with 63 runs scored. He also was fourth in the region with 33 stolen bases throughout the year and blasted seven home runs.
Nick Vilims was a reliable starter and bullpen arm for Northeast as his 83 strikeouts over the course of the season were the third-most in the ICCAC. Vilims picked up three wins on the mound and appeared in 19 matchups for the Hawks.
Nick Miszuk became a fantastic option out of the pen for Northeast as the lefty entered 15 showdowns and struck out 27 different batters. Miszuk tossed 32 innings and grabbed two wins on the hill for the Hawks.
Kale Jensen stepped right into the Northeast lineup after transferring in to play with the Hawks from North Dakota State University and was a force at the plate. Jensen was 10th in the league with a .362 batting average all year and recorded six home runs, two triples and 18 doubles. He also was third in the ICCAC in walks drawn with 43.
Northeast head baseball coach Marcus Clapp was pleased to see six members from his team recognized.
"I'm super proud of all of them," Clapp said. "Well deserved. Just proud of what they have accomplished. Oliver Ward getting first team was very special. There is no one that works harder than he does. Hard work pays off. Cade and Brice were also deserving. Cade was a staple for us at shortstop for two years. I think that is a good way for him to end his time here. Kale, Nick and Nick were also deserving and I'm proud of what they all accomplished here."
