AMES, Iowa – Northeast Community College softball student-athlete Talia Bandt (Grand Island, Neb.) was named Honorable Mention All-Region, it was announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Wednesday.
Bandt played a variety of positions defensively for the Hawks throughout her freshman season and was available wherever Northeast needed her. At the plate, Bandt hit for a .315 batting average, recorded 25 RBIs and blasted three home runs in 2024. She tallied nine doubles and two triples while also stealing four bags on the base paths. The righty competed in 44 matchups throughout the year for Northeast and appeared in six contests in the circle as a pitcher for the Hawks. Bandt was 3-for-5 with two RBIs in the Northeast victory over Ellsworth Community College at the Region 11-A Tournament Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Northeast head softball coach Erin Sharpe was thrilled to see Bandt receive the honor from the conference.
"Talia was a spit fire," Sharpe said. "Always full of energy and determination to get things done. She mainly played in the outfield but caught some games and pitched when we needed her. This award is much deserved as she took in coaching and made small changes that helped tremendously. We're excited to see what next year has in store for her."
